Ian Fox – Cockgate

Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2011.

The most talked about event of Fringe 2011 is cockgate. Kunt and the Gang‘s £10 worth of stickers has seen him threatened by comedians, alleged talk of legal action and workers from Edinburgh Council telling him they spent all last week pulling off over a hundred c*cks. You can read the full story here as well as Kunt’s apology.

Here are some images of stickers and “ghost cocks” that have been removed.

  1. Kunt has been the funniest performer for me at the Fringe so far this year (admittedly out of only one day – not as much time as last year). It’s a shame a genuinely humorous attempt at self-promotion from a guy on a tiny budget has backfired because of a *very* small handful of miserable twats with (ironically for a comedy festival) no sense of humour.

  2. I am laughing out loud in tears at these photos. The funniest thing I have heard from this year’s Fringe (which I’m missing for the first time in 5 years). Richard Herring did a similar thing a couple of years ago with his Hitler Moustache show, inviting his punters to add moustaches to other shows’ posters. He attracted less protest, it would seem, because he is a Beloved Institution and, so I’m told, “King Of Edinburgh”, whereas Kunt & The Gang is, let’s face it’s called Kunt & The Gang.

  3. Love the cock….stickers. Made up some of my own stickers that say ‘hey fucker’ and was handing them out to my crowd to put on posters but got a call to stop as the hammer was likely to drop on my world as it had on the cock guys. Sad… comics+big money+agents=no real fringe

  5. If this isn’t the spirit of the fringe I don’t know what is. Had I not returned from my Edinburgh sojourn before I saw this I would definately have gone and seen Kunt as a result – I was laughing out loud as I looked at the pictures and had a seen a couple in Edinburgh and had wondered WTF. Malcom Hardee would be pissing himself and that’s good enough for me.
